Briggs & Stratton to showcase latest products at International Vehicle Technology 2023 - STAND 4038

29th March 2023 - Power specialist Briggs & Stratton is set to display the latest Vanguard product innovations as part of an enhanced offering at the International Vehicle Technology show 2023, taking place at the Köln Messe in Cologne (DE) from the 28th to 29th June 2023. Visitors to the stand (4038) will be able to experience Briggs & Stratton’s newest Vanguard battery products and engine solutions.

The products on display will include the new Vanguard Si 1.5 kWh swappable battery, the 400 EFI / ETC single cylinder, and the benefits provided by the OEM Selectable Speed App. The range is designed to maximise all service offerings and overcome challenges that are unique to the Industrial Vehicle sector. From the development of the Si 1.5 kWh swappable battery, to the full range of fixed batteries from 3.5 kWh to 10 kWh, alongside new technology for internal combustion engines, Briggs & Stratton works together with OEMs to ensure that its power-agnostic approach provides an innovative, tailored power solution that caters to each OEM’s specific requirements within the vehicle market.

The new Vanguard 400 EFI / ETC single cylinder has been specifically designed to address common performance-related issues in the field. The electronic fuel injection (EFI) tunes every single operating point in the engine to deliver improved starting at all temperatures, smooth performance at all elevations and reduced fuel consumption up to 25%, while the electronic throttle control (ETC) reacts to any load to maintain smooth and consistent power.

Visitors to the stand can also peruse the Vanguard Batteries, including the new Si 1.5 kWh swappable battery packs. These packs can be easily swapped from application to application using the easy latch system, reducing downtime and costs, while increasing efficiencies and allowing users to tackle a wide range of tasks. The Vanguard Si 1.5 kWh swappable battery also features an integrated battery management system (BMS) to ensure the battery functions effectively to maximise power discharge and ensure safety for the user. In addition, swappable technology also reduces the number of batteries that need to be manufactured, reducing the need for mining materials and making for a more sustainable power solution.

With a constant focus on how to improve services for customers, visitors to the stand will also see the brand-new OEM Selectable Speed App, which supports users in changing requirements for engines in-app, a first-of-its-kind for Briggs & Stratton.

Visitors can speak directly with Briggs & Stratton’s power solution experts about the current product range and understand how Briggs & Stratton’s solutions could integrate into their own customer operations. These power experts are usually based at the Power Application Center Europe (PACE) in Viernheim, Germany, Briggs & Stratton’s engineering centre of excellence. The PACE offers a broad range of services to optimise power and equipment alignment, providing customers with shorter product development time and a reduction in research and development costs. The team has a wealth of knowledge on the infrastructure and how to create bespoke solutions for OEMs and welcome any questions on the stand.

Pia Weimer, Director Marketing EMEA - Engines & Power at Briggs & Stratton, commented, “Our team is dedicated to producing a range of products that provide effective solutions for the vehicle market.
