Briggs & Stratton works with Boels Rental to spec Vanguard® engines in its rental equipment

Next generation Vanguard engines are set to improve performance and user experience of Boels’ fleet while reducing its environmental impact and Total Cost of Ownership

Freienbach Switzerland, 22nd January 2019 – Briggs & Stratton Corporation is pleased to announce that it has collaborated with leading European rental company Boels Rental to deliver meaningful user-driven innovation to the market. Following great experience with Vanguard® V-Twin engines in the past, and successful product trials with the new Vanguard® 200 single-cylinder engine, Boels has indicated that it intends to specify more Vanguard single-cylinder engines in equipment for its fleet.

Reliability and sustainability for the rental market

The collaboration is built around shared values and principles. “We are delighted to support Boels in offering their customers a better user experience, while promoting safety and sustainability benefits to the market,” comments Paul Bramhall, Senior Manager Marketing of Briggs & Stratton. “Vanguard engines are built to combine unmatched product performance with a lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). Our new generation of single-cylinder engines will be designed to set new performance standards in the industry. The new 200 engine, for example, delivers ease of starting down to -29°C, 40% lower noise1, 15% less vibration2 and 50% less oil wastage3.

For future- and expansion-minded Boels, the collaboration with Briggs & Stratton is a logical step. “Vanguard engines fit perfectly in our offering,” says Guy Cremer, Director of Fleet Operations. “The new generation of Vanguard single-cylinder engines offers many game-changing improvements. The engines allow us to cut our equipment service intervals almost by half and drop our oil waste and recycling, thus reducing the environmental impact of our fleet. While suppliers generally select the engines for their equipment, we will most definitely state our preference for Vanguard engines moving forward.”

Growth through quality, innovation and service
Briggs & Stratton values long-term relationships and collaboration. Its engineers work closely with OEMs to ensure the perfect alignment of engines and equipment, to maximize performance and productivity. Support programs help rental companies improve the efficiency of their after-sales services. For instance, in-house training in their native language allows rental staff to more effectively diagnose and resolve technical problems and get equipment up and running quickly, maximizing uptime. For Boels, active in 19 countries, such support is invaluable.

“We are always looking for new opportunities to deliver the best equipment solutions to the rental market,” says Cremer. “A partner like Briggs & Stratton helps us achieve our goals and expand our reach with quality, innovation and service.”
